Facebook, the world's largest social media network has finally launched its official certification program. Two certifications will be available now. They are:

• Facebook Certified Planning Professional
• Facebook Certified Buying Professional. 

These are expected to be followed by more certifications later.
These certifications will help agencies and social media marketing professionals to showcase their expertise in marketing on Facebook platforms and stand out amongst their peers. While Facebook will gain from the higher number of trained professionals who can use Facebook advertising platforms well to market various brands. A certification on the lines of similar Google adwords certifications was found wanting from Facebook for a long time. Finally the wait is over. How to Become a Facebook Certified Marketing Professional

Step 1: Sign up at Facebook Blueprint for free and create your profile

Visit www.facebook.com/blueprint/certification and enter your credentials. Its a 2 minute task.

Step 2: Review knowledge requirements and undertake any recommended preparation if needed 

Facebook Blueprint has a huge number of courses that you can take for free. On completing these courses you get a certificate of completion too. But this is different from becoming Facebook certified professional. Head over to the next few steps to see how to become one.

Step 3 : Choose the certicification path

Facebook currently offers two certifications path . One for Ad Planning and another for ad buying. Once you select your certification path, you will have to take and pass two secure proctored exams.

Step 4: Pass the Facebook Advertising Core Competencies exam 

This is a fundamental exam that will have to be cleared by aspirants of either paths. In most cases the exams may be taken with an online proctor in the convenience and privacy of your office or home.

Step 5: Pass the advanced exam

Now take the second exam of Planning Professional OR Buying Professional. These exams have been designed to rigorously measure advanced-level competency in understanding and applying the skills required for the associated job roles. 

Step 6: Receive the Blueprint Certification badge.

This will be valid for 12 months. After that apply for re-certification annually.
